Pushing Forward: Updates on Grants, Outreach, and Future Plans at Buswell Biomedical

The SBIR Grant from the NIH was denied, which was expected but still difficult to hear. The real interest lies in the feedback we will receive, and we are eager to review it. We will have a working mechanical prototype by the next submission, making our next application even stronger. I have provided Arya Suresh PhD (Alien TT's main grant writer) with photos of the fully assembled prototype.

Buswell Biomedical is diligently reaching out to local rehabilitation hospitals. This week, we contacted three executives from Mercy Rehabilitation Hospitals via LinkedIn, though we have yet to hear back.

I visited Paraquad's “Stephen A. Orthwein Center,” which serves individuals with various disabilities. Erica Pisciotto, our CMO, recommended the visit. The center features equipment by Hacoma that fits around treadmills to prevent falls, although none of it directly competes with Upward Mobility UPMO. Despite learning a lot, I couldn’t see the equipment in use or examine it closely.

August 6 marks five years of my full-time dedication to Buswell Biomedical and the development of Upward Mobility UPMO. I plan to transition to part-time work while seeking full-time employment elsewhere, but I will continue contributing to Buswell Biomedical part-time.

I was interviewed by Christy Pennison for the “Inspiring Possible Podcast.” The interview focused mainly on the book but also covered UPMO and our business.
