Leap into Success: February Updates from Buswell Biomedical

February flew by in a whirlwind of events and opportunities! I had the pleasure of discussing Upward Mobility and Buswell Biomedical on the Veteran on the Move Podcast, which aired on February 5th. Initially, I left the interview feeling uncertain, but it was edited to the point where I sound good, although the messaging was not entirely accurate.

Excitingly, I have two more podcast interviews lined up for next month! One is with the Ambitious Women in Business Podcast, and the other is with the Midlife Reinvention Podcast. I can't wait to share my insights and experiences with their audiences.

In other news, Gregg and I officially closed on our House in the City in February. Despite both of us battling Covid-19, we managed to complete the closing "2020 style" – signing papers in Gregg’s truck with documents passed through the window. At the end, they even let us keep the pens!

I was honored to be selected as a speaker during TechSTL’s tech week, scheduled for April 8-12. However, due to a conflict with a total Solar Eclipse on April 8th, they have some scheduling challenges. I've reached out to Emily Hemmingway, the president of TechSTL, expressing my willingness to speak on other days if available, but I'm still awaiting confirmation.

On the business front, we're making significant progress with the fabrication of parts for our prototype, despite being  behind schedule. By the end of March, we anticipate having a mechanical prototype ready for testing.

Gregg and I also have the hard copy of our patent.  U.S. Pat. No. 11883347.  Is ours and is published if you want to look it up on the USPTO site.

Additionally, Saint Louis University and Buswell Biomedical are nearing the completion of our NIH SBIR Grant Submittal. With the support of our dedicated team at Alien TT, we've developed a robust research plan and are confident in the strength of our proposal. We aim to submit in early March, with a deadline in early April. Fingers crossed for positive news within 6-8 weeks thereafter!

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement as we navigate these exciting endeavors. Stay tuned for more updates!
