Buswell Biomedical Business Update

At Buswell Biomedical, we’ve been pushing forward on several fronts, and I wanted to take a moment to update you all on some exciting developments and ongoing efforts.

1. New Infographic and UPMO HandoutWe recently worked with a graphic designer to create an informative infographic, which we've broken down into three distinct pieces. One of these has been repurposed as a handout that details how our Upward Mobility (UPMO) will function. This handout will help explain how UPMO supports both our patients and healthcare workers. More to come on that front soon!

2. GRIT Event PanelistI had the privilege of participating as one of five panelists at the recent GRIT event, where I answered a variety of questions in person. It was a fantastic opportunity to share insights, engage with peers, and learn from others in the industry.

3. SolidWorks Education SeminarI recently attended a SolidWorks education seminar where I gained valuable insights into its interface, Specifically I recognizing the ABACUS simulation interface. I was also able to observe an impressive demonstration where a physical part was scanned and imported into a SolidWorks model. The advancement in these tools is exciting as we continue with our design and prototyping goals at Buswell.

4. PitchSTL: Sharpening the SwordIn a continuous effort to improve, I participated in PitchSTL, not with the expectation of a prize, but to “sharpen my sword.” The feedback I received was invaluable, helping us refine our approach and strategy. It's all part of making Buswell Biomedical as sharp and innovative as possible.

5. Podcast InterviewsI’ve been fortunate to be featured on several podcast interviews. Most recently, my interview for "CEO on the GO" was released—though I’ll admit the audio wasn’t perfect (I sounded like I was in a tunnel!). It’s still worth a listen if you’re interested in our story.

6. SBIR Submission with Alien TTWe’ve also had a few meetings with Alien TT to discuss our potential SBIR submission to the NIH. The main takeaway so far? We need better communication on our end. We are actively looking for more healthcare workers input to fine-tune our response. If you know anyone who might be interested in offering their perspective, I’d love to hear from you.

7. Health Update for COO, Davis Pfeifer I want to send best wishes to Davis Pfeifer, our COO, as he prepares for back surgery next month. Please keep him in your thoughts as he recovers and returns to full strength.

8. Mechatronics Resources from Don O’BrienA special thanks to Don O’Brien, who sent me several Mechatronics books and used his IEEE position to get me a journal. I’m currently typing this update while sitting next to those books and plan to dive into them to understand how to further optimize our prototype. This is a valuable resource that will help guide our next steps.

As always, we continue to push forward with our mission at Buswell Biomedical, and I’m excited to see what the future holds. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued support!
